That just means i have to be a bit more careful about wb then exposure. I’ve used the sx10 at outdoor bathe meets then found that the lens performs better than expected right out to the end.

So, why the Canon PowerShot SX20IS? Recently i’ve been asked to do more then more little video snippets for clients then for my publisher then while i like the results from the sx10 i wanted real hd video for the times that a medical practice has asked for video clips for both their website and for power point then other uses. I wanted the extra detail for the times that they exploited the clips inside projected presentations. The price point works.

I’ve spent a couple days testing the sx 10 then the results are very, very competent. The fore mounted microphones are of very inebriated quality then the sound for most applications is very acceptable. Would i like a mike input? You bet! Does that sour the deal? Not inside the least.

The image quality of the stills is just because competent because the sx 10 at low iso’s then about 1/2 a stop better at 200 then 400. I’ll chalk that up to the new digic processor.

All inside all the build quality then the easy operation make the camera a winner for me. These days clients are more interested inside using images then video inside a wide range of multimedia then the sx 20 is a great tool for anything that’s headed to the web. I still own traditional dlsr cameras then exploited them however left to my own devices i find the smaller sensor cameras to be highly competent then very usable.

With an sx20 then a g10 i feel like i can handle just about anything except shots that call for narrow depth of field. Traditional photographers may not want to hear that video is becoming a required skill however that won’t make it go away. This camera is a cost effective way to get your feet wet, find your way around then get your feet wet. I like it.

I purchased the selphy cp-780 as a replacement because of my cp-720, that was a replacementt because of my cp-220, although there wasn’t anything wrong with the cp-720 i just wanted the newer model. Right away a few things i noticed.

Its faster (print wise and starting/turning off), buttons and layout of menu’s are much nicer and more refined. The paper tray has been redesigned and much easier to open/load.

The picture quality doesn’t appear any number different however i always thought it was pretty impressive anyways. I did notice the sample paper it comes with is no longer has a assighment Card on the back, i requested the one paper many moons ago when i had the cp-220. At the time they said there was no demand (ya right). Anyways once i use up the 300 postcard i had stocked up on, i’ll be happy to move onto regular photo paper with a blank back.

I currently only have 2 cons with the one inexperienced printer and they are mere minor if anything.

1. canon selphy cp780 no longer includes a usb (type b) cable. Come on what does the one flow same 30 cents?
2. They removed the built in micro usb cable that the cp-720 had (not a huge deal because it still has the ports on the side, and chances are you have a usb (a or b) cable laying around.
