Almora
Almora is one of the most beautiful places in Kumaon region in Uttaranchal. Almora is intact and the mountain is full of beauty. Nestled in the lap of nature, this region has small houses built on slopes and splendor of this place are added colorful indigenous clothing. Next to the city flows Koshi (Kaushaki) and Suyal (Salmali) rivers.
Mussoorie
It is situated at a height of 2500 meters in the green Himalayan range. Thanks to its location and beauty Mussoorie is considered as the best hill station in the northern region. In the 1820s, a young captain of the British army was influenced by the beauty of this place and made it his residence. The name, Mussoorie, is derived from plants of 'Mussoorie' which were found in abundance here. The modern bungalows, malls and in the gardens that are located on the hills around the small area are sufficient to attract tourists.
Nainital
Once this region has many lakes, and was called the city of 60 lakes or 'Chakta. Most lakes have disappeared and what remains is just a taste of what they were before. Nowadays, the life of Nainital revolves around the lake of Nain. But there are few other lakes around Nainital which are equally beautiful and interesting, such as Lake Nain.
Gulmarg
The valley of Gulmarg, a large meadow about 3 square km, is located at 2730 meters, 56 km south-west of Srinagar. The name means' meadow of flowers "in spring and it is right that, rolling meadow dotted with countless colors Bluebells, daisies, Forget Me Nots and buttercups. The valley is located about 3 km long and up to one km wide. All around the snow-capped mountains, and the day you can see all the way to Nanga Parbat is one direction and Srinagar is another. This is a day to people from Srinagar Gulmarg, although many people extend their stay or use as a base for hiking. The road from Srinagar rises gently towards the lower slopes of the range, passing through fields of rice and corn.
Srinagar
The capital of Jammu and Kashmir and the largest city of the state, Srinagar (1,730 m) is famous for its canals, houseboats and Mughal gardens. The city itself is very different from most other major Indian cities and are much more than in Central Asia in the subcontinent. E 'a city full of intriguing alleyways and curious buildings. A place where you can spend a few hours simply wandering – particularly along the old streets of the city near the river Jhelum.
Pahalgam
At an altitude of 2130 meters and 95 km from Srinagar, Pahalgam is probably the most popular hill station in the valley of Kashmir. How is lower than Gulmarg the night temperatures do not drop so low and has the additional advantage of the beautiful Lidder river running right through the city. Pahalgam is situated at the junction of the rivers and Sheshnag Aru and surrounded by soaring mountains covered with trees bare, snow-capped peaks rising behind them.
