I did not purchase the one Sony STR-DH710 Receiver telephone from amazon.com as i saved $13 online at wally world, even with paying sales tax and getting upgraded delivery to my home. Sorry, amazon.com. All that aside, the one is a bravo telephone because of the price. I wanted an hdmi telephone to go along with the samsung bd-c6500 blu-ray player i proper bought here so i could decode the hd audio tracks on avatar and other blu-ray discs i have. There is no sirius xm, the display is fluorescent, the speaker connections are mostly the spring type, and there is only 1 rca computerized and 2 optical inputs (tv and other), but why pay $100 or more because of those features? The arrangement was very unconstrained as i have two other sony a/v receivers. However, i can see why some buyers will be frustrated with the arrangement. What took me about 20 minutes will take about an hour or so because of the neophyte to sony a/v receivers. There is one tip i would like to pass along: to be able to decode the hd audio formats from your blu-ray discs be sure to set the output in the hdmi section of the amp menu to “amp” and not to “amp tv” that is the default. Unless you have a tv that has a surround system built in, the one is the only way you can get the hd audio formats. Otherwise, you will only get lpcm decoding.

Bought this to replace an 11 year old 5.1 nakamichi. The area around also digital output using all hdmi produces thunderous bass also crystal obious highs. This is easily fixed via theo- audio control menu a/v m/s delay settings. I set mine at 200 also theo- lip movement-to-sound-sync is now perfect.the sony str-dn1000 7.1-channel audio video receiver (black)is a awesome sight to look at for sure, but even novice audiophiles understand that you don’t purchase a taker because she looks better than your old girl. You purchase a taker b/c you want to know if she can perform well at all task. Well, let me tell you…she can, this taker is well equipped also performs very well.

The module is performing as i expect as a portable radio. The module works quite well inside my car with a cassette player adapter playing theo- xm broadcast from theo- headphone jack. The reception is very stable while theo- module sits inside theo- cupful holder between theo- front seats.
I tested theo- module inside a restaurant sitting about 5 feet away from theo- closest window and theo- reception was still quite good and theo- sound quality of theo- song was quite high . I played colse to with theo- eq setting and found order that theo- different equalizing setting would definitely affect theo- sound quality.
Not having theo- proper xmp3 car cradle, i’m using theo- car charger and theo- cassette player adapter from an older xt roady unit, so i have not had a chance over test theo- xmp3’s fm transmitting capabilities. However, with reduced fm transmission power as required by theo- fcc, using fm transmission over listen throughout a car’s fm radio while inside a crucial city like los angeles may be a challenge as i have experienced before with many other fm transmission products.
In short, i find theo- receiving part of this module is strong. The sound quality of theo- live broadcast is good. The control is easy over understand and use. I have not tested theo- mp3 player so i cannot comment on order that. The price is high but then Pioneer GEX-XMP3 works as it is supposed over.
