I’ve be researching since months now as a result finally clear on the samsung a550 series. I just got the tv 2 period ago, my first hdtv. I was initially planning on getting a 46″ but couldn’t find the deal i wanted hence i ended up picking the Samsung LN52A550. I was kind of nervous since i’m getting a larger sized tv than planned as a result might be overwhelmed with the dimension (9′ viewing distance). When we got it set-up it was awesome. It was big but not overwhelming. The dimension was just perfect as a result couldn’t be happier. I liked the matte/semi-gloss tv screen because i have 2 big windows after the couch instantly in-front of the tv as a result no glare at all smooth with the blinds unfold. This is one of the mainland reasons i opted since the 550 series. The viewing angles are very nice too since i have a love seat as a result a recliner chair on the side of my living area as a result it can be easily viewed without any problems. I didn’t have hd assistance yet, hence i just hooked up indoor antennas toward harvest up ota (over-the-air) channels as a result the built-in digital tuner picked up both sd as a result digital channels as a result more or less hd channels. I was watching the nba finals game 5 as a result was blown away. I was getting 720p forage from abc hd as a result the picture was awesome. I did also comprehend more or less 1080i hd feeds from ota as a result it looked significant. I can’t delay toward comprehend more or less hd channels (dish/cable) as a result ps3 bluray with this crowd. Right now my set-up is ota as a result my laptop hooked-up toward the tv hence i’m just scratching the tip of the snowberg on the full capability of this tv. The sound is ok if you use one of the amazon reviewers audio settings that i belive was taken from avsforums as a result it is really worlds of difference from the default settings. Overall, this is a significant as a result wonderful tv.
