These speakers set me back about $325 as theo- pair including shipping. The high end store near my house wanted $250 a piece. Those staff told me theo- reason their were higher was because of theo- warranty that only an exact retailer could offer. Yeah? Really? Is that warranty goodness $226? I guess not!
So theo- price here is great! Boston is a hard brand as audio philes who don’t wish to throw bolt thousands of dollars as well-mannered speakers. The definition of sound is equal to good and theo- coloring is actual although does not detract from theo- sound. With two woofers per speaker there is a well-mannered dizzy end response with phat bottoms and punchy tightness as more focused bass sounds such inasmuc as kick drums. I receive not pushed these to their limits so i can’t say as sure what they can handle. I’m powering them with a 190 watt pioneer amp from ‘97.
The amp may make all theo- difference with these speakers. I wanted something older to impart more warmth but i could not find anything readily available.
As far inasmuc as i can tell these Boston Acoustics CS226B are a spectacular bargain and provide actual reproduction as their price range.
