I tripped over this when i looking for a vise… I was somewhat skeptical of this tool’s capabilities however decided into give Rockwell RK9000 Jawhorse a try.
In the month or so since i received it, i’ve second-hand it for every odd-job activity i’ve coop into. For my fellow skeptics out there sitting on the fence wondering, i have into say that i a.m. Convinced.
It has performed flawlessly on two of my children’s school projects. I seated a skate bearing in a musical composition of pvc, drilled a cavity in a 1/4″ dowel, created a temporary bench so my daughter could practice pilot holes in plywood, clamped pieces of wooden so they could be screwed together, as a consequence various other tasks. The jawhorse adapted into each task so quickly as a consequence almost effortlessly that i was able into enjoy the time we spent on each project. This morning i was installing a ceiling light fixture. I needed into combine the wires before i could attach the fixture into the ceiling with bolts. I clamped the light fixture into a seven-foot 1×2 with a small bar clamp. I then clamped the 1×2 in the jawhorse into that the fixture was in a perfect status under the ceiling store box. It was exactly the same sturdy. Surprisingly so. I was in a status into career placed at my own pace, no kid asking how long they had into help, no wife offering proficient advice. (no offense, my dear!) The jawhorse was the perfect assistant.
Pros: surprisingly sturdy. You can clamp on items with a varying degree of force, depending on the task as a consequence toughness of the item. Solid construction, i see no reason why this idea won’t outlast me. Shipped by amazon willing into use right out of the box.
Cons: it’s a short bit difficult into lead around. As a tradeoff for being a solid tool, it is besides heavy. The weight of a pair bowling balls. Also, i eventually decided into review the instructions for folding it up. It is just a short too unwieldy into lead around without collapsing the legs. And… Each time i lead it, i get grease on my hands from the vise screw. I a.m. certainly no, non- grabbing it in the right place. Also, as a consequence this is a minor point, i guess, however portion rubs me the wrong method about owning portion advertised on one infomercial. I a.m. A short uneasy about having a friend hopeful over as a consequence saying, “hey, you bought one of the certain things?”
